  • General Manager - Italy

    The Italian Real Estate Team has seen unprecedented growth over the last few years, through organic and strategic growth, and we are still attracting new work from new sources in Italy.

    Our clients include Developers, Investors, Financial institutions, major PLCs and high net worth private individuals.

    Due to recent expansion in Italy, with the opening of new offices scheduled throughout 2008 (including Milan and Rome) we are urgently recruiting for a full-time General Manager to manage our Italian offices in Sicily, Calabria, Puglia as well as Rome, Turin and Milan.

    The ideal candidate will be flexible, determined and with a thrive for new challenges. Availability to frequent travel is a requirement as the job will involve long hours.

    You will be responsible directly to the Practice Director: your role will be to deliver a professional and fully comprehensive Accounting, Reporting and Performance management service in respect of all maintenance expenditure, on a regional level which reflects the firm's financial strategy and business objectives.

    You will oversee the operation of the balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarise the current and projected financial situation of the various offices. You will ideally possess a strong financial bacground and passion for business development. You will have a proven track record of working against set targets and thrive to work under pressure.

    Leading a small team of regional managers in each office, you will identify and drive through initiatives for continuous improvement to achieve corporate goals. Equally important will be the production of monthly and annual accounts, liaising with external auditors, analysis of financial and budget information, and detailing assets, liabilities and capital.

    A broad knowledge of Italian law and exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.

    The starting salary is negotiable dependent upon skills and experience, and there will also be an opportunity to earn a bonus linked to fee income.

  • Senior Tax Advisor & Accountant - Commercialista E Revisore Contabile - Calabria

    Our clients include Developers, Investors, Financial institutions, major PLCs and high net worth private individuals. The Calabria office in Vibo has been involved in a number of high profile transactions.

    Due to recent expansion in Vibo, we are urgently recruiting for a full-time senior accountant/tax advisor (commercialista e revisore contabile) to develop our new Tax Department in Calabria: main duties will include reconciliation of clients' accounts as well as advising foreign individuals, real estate investors, overseas agents and foreign companies in suitable tax planning and strategies to minimise tax liability in Italy.

    This role will be based within the Group Finance Department, and you will be responsible directly to the Head of Accounts in London, your role will be to deliver a professional and fully comprehensive Accounting, Reporting and Performance management service in respect of all maintenance expenditure, on a regional level which reflects the firm's financial strategy and business objectives.

    You will prepare the balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarise the current and projected financial situation of the Vibo Office.

    Leading a small team of accounts staff, and liasing with the colleagues in the Tax Department in Palermo (Italian Head Office) you will identify and drive through initiatives for continuous improvement to achieve corporate goals. Equally important will be the production of monthly and annual accounts, liaising with external auditors, analysis of financial and budget information, and detailing assets, liabilities and capital.

    Your main duties will include:

    - To ensure the production of quality, timely Budgets, Management Accounts, Projections and Financial plans for all group companies, which ensure operational activities are effectively controlled and overseen.
    - To ensure the timely production of a regional reporting pack including both financial and non-financial performance information and narrative.
    - To ensure that all income, expenditure, assets and liabilities are monitored, controlled and managed so that Budgets, Business & Financial plans are achieved, and issues are identified at the earliest opportunity.
    - To make recommendations to improve company financial performance, e.g. cost savings, income generation, make-or-buy decisions, investment and divestmentdecisions
    - To design and deliver financial training to line managers and staff to enable them to deal appropriately with a variety of financial situations

    A broad knowledge of Italian contract law and exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
